Change in the municipal council

Linda Gaasch has announced her resignation from the municipal council, effective 31 January. After nearly seven years of commitment to the green cause within the council, she is taking a break from the political first row. Fabricio Costa will take over her seat on the municipal council.

Linda Gaasch, 37, has been a municipal councillor in Luxembourg City for déi gréng since 2019 and has been particularly involved in recent years in environmental protection, the fight against climate change and smart urban planning. For personal reasons, she has decided to take a pause from her political involvement. She will remain a member of the environmental advisory committee, allowing the city to continue to benefit from her expertise in this area.

Fabricio Costa, a young and committed politician, will join the municipal council. He was co-spokesperson for the Young Greens from 2022 to 2024 and one of the two lead candidates in the 2024 European elections. Aged 30, he has lived in Pfaffenthal since his childhood and has been involved in musical associations in the capital over the years. He is particularly committed to the economic development and attractiveness of the city. In the municipal council, he will be responsible for urban planning, commerce, the environment and climate issues.

The local section warmly thanks Linda for her commitment in the municipal council and looks forward to continuing to count on her commitment in the environment committee. We wish Fabricio every success in his new role.
